Feb-03 [Medical Library] Updates and New Introduction of Electronic Services

E-Journals & E-Books Search, NULink, and Discovery Service

Starting January 2025, we have updated existing services and introduced a new service.
If you have bookmarked any of the old services, please note that they will no longer be accessible after the end of January 2025.

A. [Updated] E-Journals & E-Books Title Search

  • Access: Library Website > Electronic Resources (For Nagoya University members) > Electronic journals
  • This service allows you to search for e-journals and e-books available at Nagoya University.
  • Both subscription-based and open-access resources are included.
  • Use the dropdown menu below the search box to filter by "All", "Journals, only" or "Books only".

B. [Updated] NULink    nulink.jpeg

  • NULink (link resolver) system has been updated.
  • The icon remains the same and is available in various databases.
  • The intermediate window design has changed.
  • "【STEP1】フルテキストを読む | Access to Full Text"
The icon at the beginning of the link indicates the destination:
    • home.png or 📂etc... : Redirects to the journal's homepage. You may need to locate the specific volume, issue, or page.
    • 📄or lamp.png etc... : Directly links to the full-text article.

C. [New] Discovery Service (trial phase)

  • Access: Library Website Discovery Service (trial phase)
  • Uses EBSCO Discovery Service to search books, journals, and electronic resources available at Nagoya University.
  • The search scope varies:
    • Printed materials: Matches OPAC holdings.
    • Electronic resources: May include title-only searches or full-text searches, depending on availability.
  • If a black login bar appears at the top, some content may be restricted. Click the bar and log in with your NU account to view all available content.
  • This tool is useful for broadening your research scope.

Important Notes:

  • If you need to locate a specific article, use OPAC or E-Journals & E-Books Title Search.
  • If you know the article title but not the journal name, volume, or issue, use databases to find the bibliographic details and then access it via NULink.
